Harry Potter Party, Part 1

One of my favorite parts of momdom is planning my daughters' birthday parties. And so, I have a tendency to go a TEENSY bit overboard when we celebrate. In past years, we've had artful monkey parties, a princess tea party (with costumes and real tea), and a Star Wars party with a special visit from a not-so-menacing Darth Vader.

But when my 7-year-old's passions coincided with one of mine (a certain young wizard and his magical world), my passion for planning went into overdrive. And so my daughter and 17 of her best friends got to spend a day in J.K. Rowling's magical world, complete with a trip to Diagon Alley and a full schedule of classes at Hogwarts.

Follow this blog over the next few days as I share the details of how I pulled together a Harry Potter party that my daughter still raves is the "best party ever."
