What makes iced coffee even better? Yummy flavored syrup. But you can skip the expensive Torani syrups and DIY it at home. In 15 minutes, you'll have fabulous syrup, at a fraction of the cost of the Torani (you can even pour your homemade syrup in a saved bottle, so it only looks expensive).
Here's what you need:
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
2-3 tsp. of vanilla extract
Stir all ingredients together in a medium-sized saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring, until sugar is dissolved. Let syrup boil and continue to stir occasionally, until the syrup is slightly thickened and is reduced by about half.
Let it cool, bottle it up, and keep it handy for your next coffee fix.
